What is Wensdi? -Friday, I am alive... Just. :D

I was on such a good roll with work and making frequent posts. I was enjoying the artwork I was working on, I was actually finding work to do and applying for jobs. Things were going great. Then I end up in hospital ill!

I got out of hospital a little over a week ago and today has been the first day where I've started to feel like me again! Yay, and to celebrate I did a pretty little "pin up" style girlie. I think she is very pretty, Mr Wensdi says she looks slightly alien, this seems to happen a a lot when I draw women, they end up looking alienesque or oriental. I put it down to me being a head of the times...

Anyway, I would really love to finish the A2 frog piece, which I have Titled - "Anura", I know not the most imaginative name but I like it. Yes, so I would love to finish her but currently I'm still a little tender and can't physically get into the position to work on her.

That makes me sound odd doesn't it? Like, what possible position do I work in that I can't get into it now to finish it? I guess I could explain, but it makes me sound less mysterious than if I just left it to your imaginations, ha! I work on a huge A1 board and rest the board against a chair and my belly... Currently I can't put any pressure on my belly without being in pain and so cannot work on the piece. :(

I can't wait to finish her though and I look forward to the day I can get back to work on her! Until then you will all have to enjoy the little pretty girlie's I'll be working on in the meantime!

I don't know if it's because I'm in a much better mood today or because I'm listening to Adam and the Ants, but this came out so quick and easily. I think I'll put it down a little bit to both good mood and Mr Adam Ant.

I have learned today that I am currently working in a really crappy sketchbook that doesn't work well with shading or ink. Next time I will work on cartridge paper or a nicer sketchbook. I would love a moleskine sketchbook, but they are so expensive! I think given the month I've had a deserve a nice pretty book to work in, so I may have to treat myself, unless I have any loving and adoring fans out there who would life to buy me one? I could sweeten the deal and let you have the sketchbook after I've filled it! That's a hell of a deal I think! :D

Enjoy.

What is Wensdi? - Saturday. My gosh four days in a row, something has changed.

I think its because I'm really enjoying this piece and I like seeing it progress. I imagine other people would have an interest in seeing the process too.

Also stopping and taking pictures gives me a chance to see what needs changing so I can go a head an fix it before I commit too much ink and time to it.

For example, I have changed the hand but now I have noticed that the fingers on the hands need to be slightly more slender, and the neck needs to be changed as its not in the correct place.

So in the next update I probably would have made these changes.

I'm already starting to get a little bit crazy from doing all the hair detail. There is still so much to do! It's going to look soooo good!

What is Wensdi? - Monday, I got a piece done today in 2 hours!

Yeah it's a lot more basic and doesn't have nearly half the detail that I add to my work, but I like it a lot. I really enjoy drawing stockings.

:D Just wish I had an A3 scanner now so I could get a really good digital copy of all my lovely works.

What is Wensdi? - Monday finished piece :D Please share :D

Ha! Proper chuffed with myself got it finished by 6pm! Doesn't she look lovely? As with anything, it looks even better in real life! I do however think that there is something missing from the bottom, something dark that would help the orchids pop. I don't know what I could put there to change that just now, and since I usually ruin my work by over doing it and not knowing when to stop. I'm forcing myself to leave it be, because it is rather lovely as it is.

What is Wensdi? - Monday! Work in progress continuation!

It's starting to shape up nicely don't you think? :D

I will be spending the rest of the day finishing her off, I have challenged myself to be finished before 6 tonight, so I guess I better crack on!

What is Wensdi? - Thursday! Work in progress!!

As you can imagine, I got sick and tired of the piece of work I previously showed in progress. This doesn't mean it will remain unfinished, but until I can summon the strength to complete it, I am going to work on other pieces instead.

Pieces such as this beauty! I am especially excited by her as I have been working on this face shape and style in my sketchbooks and have developed it and this is the first piece I have started with this look to it. I can't wait to finish her I reckon I could be done by tomorrow afternoon! I'll take more in work in progress pics so you can all revel in its development.

Isn't she beautiful?

What is Wensdi? - Another Monday, no cats - PROMISE!

So, I'm working on redesigning my website and blog to make them a bit more fun and "Wensdi" and a bit less severely boring and clinical looking. Therefore, I have spent today working out a look and feel I want it to have, and have come up with a banner design. I did the initial design by hand.

This is the artwork in its basic unedited scan. I'm very good at drawing aren't I?

This is the artwork after some quick editing and playing around with the idea of adding colour to cheeks, I am undecided as to whether I like it or not.

This is the artwork after I using the Live trace tool on Illustrator, usually live trace destroys all the detail I have put into the illustrations but this time I think it looks quite nice!

I have just decided I quite like the pink cheeks and will continue to play around and see what I come up with. I really would love to know what anyone thinks about this design so let me know your thoughts.

What is Wensdi? - Tuesday's it's pancake day...

It's pancake day today, I'm not going to be having pancakes though as I don't really like them unless they're made by someone else. So maybe it's the making pancakes I don't like? Nah pretty sure it's because every time I make them they aren't particularly nice and are usually rubbery.

Anyway, I have some nice pieces to share today. I have been working on some bigger pattern girls at A3 size, there can be a lot more detail put into the pattern, but I think I need to jig about with scaling pattern slightly if I was to work bigger still.

Please click on them to get a bigger version to appreciate the detail of the pattern.

I have also been working on some group piece's They're also done on A3 but the girls are done at a much smaller scale. So I've had to make separate versions of them so they can be appreciated properly on a screen.
Again please click on them to get a better view.

If you right hand click and open in a new tab you can zoom in and see much better.

What is Wensdi? - Monday Moooooonday

Sooooooooooo, I have been a rubbish blogger, I hardly did anything on here last week, but that's only because I've been uber busy procrastinating. Anyway, I have actually been drawing I've become increasingly obsessed with drawing round women in garish patterns, basically if these clothes existed I WOULD wear them.

I think blue girlie here is my favourite I would love her hair and whole outfit! Yeah I have taste and style...

Enjoy.
